Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) - Singapore

The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) forms the backbone of the railway system spanning the entire city-state, with three main lines – the North-South line from Marina Bay to Jurong East, the East-West line from Changi Airport/Pasir Ris to Boon Lay, and the North-East line from Harbour Front to Punggol.

Visitors can obtain a copy of MRT travel guide from the station control rooms in all the train stations.

The journey from the city to Changi Airport will take about 30 minutes, and service hours are listed below:

Changi Airport station to City Hall station
First train: 0531 hrs (Mon to Sat), 0559 hrs (Sun and public holidays)
Last train: 2318 hrs (daily)

City Hall station to Changi Airport station
First train: 0609 hrs (Mon to Sat), 0645 hrs (Sun and public holidays)
Last train: 0003 hrs (daily)

Train fares:

Rides ranging from SGD0.80 to a maximum of SGD1.70. Instead of using cash, Ezlink cardneed to be purchased. Visitors may purchase the card from any TransitLink Ticket Sales Office located in most MRT stations and bus interchanges. Each adult card is sold with a minimum value of SGD10 plus a deposit fee of SGD5.
